` Back in 2005, when I lived with a coupla guys, I made a blog post 'Which Ones Are Modern Myths?' where you can see Gourdy, the Vector-Drawn YurkTM as a sort of mascot.
` But that's the only computer-constructed version of him I ever made. He's all over my sketchbook, of course, notably when he reveals himself in his fight with Nights, arguably one of the fruitiest video game characters in the world.
` Later on, after the vector incident, I drew a whole rash of Gourdy evolution in my Twisted Little World sketchbook, though it started - bizarrely enough - with this hilariously terrible idea for a kid's coloring book! (Click to get a closer look.)
gourdy1 Charming, isn't it? And it really got me thinking... what if Yurks could be farmed? Then, it just got out of hand....
gourdy2 That, near the bottom, was Butters, the biting cat we'd just gotten at the time. (After my oft-drawn Katie had died.) Before I knew it, I had started changing Gourdy's feet....
gourdy3 ...And his bill.
gourdy4 ...Not to mention his resistance to magic rings.
gourdy5 ...and his ability to slay demons.
gourdy6 All that from a little silhouette on the cover of a book I had designated Zum Ersten Mal, actually a journal in disguise (one I had after my Dad had stolen all my journals). Yes, Gourdy has come a long way.
` Anyway, I hope you enjoyed these little sketches - I have much cooler stuff for next time. Which will be soon. I promise. And I'm sorry I haven't been by lately - I've been spending too much time at my other blogs whenever I get some time at the computer!
` Indeed, I keep not coming back precisely because the posts are so simple to put together. I'll try to do better. I mean... right, there is no try. Only do. So I'll do that.

First!
I wouldn't mind seeing more adventures with Gourdy!
Also, it's one more affirmation of why I'm proud of my egg allergy. (Not really.)
Sidenote: Augh! I've tried like ten times to use the OpenID thing, and it keeps telling me I need to sign in before I can comment, despite the fact that I DID sign in each time!
I guess it's not just WordPress it does this on -- it's the whole OpenID thing! I'm simply 'not signed in' no matter what I do! Well, what's that worth?
Didn't I tell you that you have talent? And was I right? I'll have a look at your other blogs now and who knows, we might meet again.
` Indeed, Galtron, I've thought about making him a 'permanent' character in my drawings.
` Sorry to hear about OpenID. Perhaps your computer is allergic to it?
` Middle Ditch, thanks for hangin' around!
I like Yurks. More please.
Just saw the comment about ears . The horse looks ok from the side but if you look from the back, its ears are oddly shaped. Tiny bit of ear shaping called for. Or I could stop looking at it from the back.
` Ha ha! Yes, just be lazy and don't let anyone see it from the back, or the jig is up!
` There will be more Yurks. So I predict....
Gourdy is cute.
