My Twisted Little World

` That is the name of my larger pencil sketchbook: The previously-posted images on my other blog (linked to in the first post on this blog) are from the smaller sketchbook.
` You know, there really is no excuse for my lack of posts on this blog; I've been fretting all this time over what I'm going to write in my blogs (not much of an issue here!), so without further moonbows or sticky wads of saliva, I present to you:

` Mua ha ha ha haaaa! Such was my first experimentation with gel pens (iridescent ones at that), sometime around age seventeen - before the time I'd drawn the last sketchbook drawings I've posted, anyway.
` The strange shape of the logo, by the way, is actually the outline of the label, which I'd torn off partway at the time. There was also a quirky little store label at the top corner that I'd retained for sentimental reasons - I'd bought this journal on vacation - but I'd found that someone had ripped it off while they were looking at my drawings! Why, God? Whyyyy?!
` Just how old I was, I don't know, though I evidently had ridiculously long (and thus matted) hair, and had evidently weighed more than my usual 120 lbs (54 kg). Oh yeah, and I guess I was also blue and green with orange eyes....

` Mua ha ha haaa again! (I had been trying to look evil. Did it work?) Within the first few pages there were many little drawings, though most of them were photographed poorly. However, this section happens to be reasonably in focus, if on a diagonal plane:

` You might recognize Gourdy from my former drawings - as well as a slightly chibified version from a post I did two years ago called 'Which Ones Are Modern Myths?' as Gourdy the Mouse Drawn Vector Yurk ^TM.

` He was supposed to have been a recurring character as a mascot for my humorous condescensions ("Remember, kids....") though this plan didn't pan out. Why? It seems I forgot about him whenever I did an appropriate post - and then remembered about it a week later! (Yes, my brain was really addled in those times.)
` I never did do another vector drawing, by the way, because drawing with a mouse is just too awkward for me (and at the time I was doing this on the carpet!). I really wish I'd had a stylus - and had saved the vectors as well....
` Indeed, I can see how great computer drawing could become if only I a), had a lot of money like I do now, b) had a functioning computer like I do now, and c), actually wanted a stylus - which I don't anymore. Two out of three are the most I've had so far, such are the constantly-changing fortunes of life.
` Back in the day, though, the most sophisticated tool I had was a pencil. And pencil drawings smudge a lot! I remember grabbing my sketchbooks out of my grandparents' hands because they kept running their fingers over all the more detailed parts and smudging them out of existence!
` One side-effect of graphite not staying where it's put is that pencil drawings in a book can easily be transferred to the facing page simply by drawing on the reverse side of the paper as the drawing. This explains my interpretative counter-image of 'Aunt Zelda'.... (I recommend clicking on this to get a better view.)

` I can't say I know Aunt 'Lizzie' that well, but I hear she can go for a week without any food at all! And speaking of food....

` ...I had by this time discovered that food has an even better purpose!! (Yes, those are the natural colors, too!) Later on in my sketchbook, however, I recanted:

` I guess the Smoked Bunkyfish Association of America had gotten to me by then, and I agreed to draw their sponsored product. Darned organizations, using me as their pawn!
