That's right! I'd almost forgotten all about this, but superhero Lou Ryan and Director Nathan Lee have made a video explaining some of the fight choreography he did for the movie The Rat - featuring my storyboard art!
` I didn't realize it, but it's on YouTube now. It's a good little 2-minute video, very well-made! Please check it out! For the children!!
Too bad my computer doesn't have speakers... I'll have to watch it elsewhere!

Wow! Well done! I hope that you got paid for it! When did you found out it was on You Tube? They told you?
I agree with Monique: "Wow!" You both did a great job. The with the choreography! The video is an excellent production. Wow!
` Hi guys! Thanks for dropping by (without me prompting you - guess I know who my blogfriends are)!
` Actually, they didn't tell me that it was on YouTube, despite the fact that I live with Lou Ryan and we're in constant contact with Nate. In fact I watched them put the video together on this very Mac Pro.
` ...Which is currently lacking a mouse (we left it at Nate's current place in Hood River, Oregon), so of course my PC mouse has been cannibalized for this occasion.*
` Anyway, I did not get any money for making the storyboards, most of which I actually drew after the scenes were shot anyway and therefore they were not used as any kind of aid to the choreography as it appears they were.
` I know!! WTF?
` And Nick, I don't quite know what 'The with the choreography' is supposed to mean, but I'm assuming it's meant to be a compliment. ;)
* I'm actually glad, however, to learn that my mouse's two buttons work on Macs - now I can use the Mac without needing both hands in order to operate the mouse. (Hello? I thought the mouse is meant to be used by one hand!)
` Indeed, using a 'two handed' mouse involves a lot of conscious thought on my behalf and a lot of moving around the room. Like, wow, it's so much easier when you do it the easy way!
Read "You both did a great job with the choreography!"
Where the period and extra "the" came from I have no idea.
` Lol!! You know, I make a lot of really oddball typos like that, usually from not erasing stuff all the way and leaving partial word or sentence 'artifacts'.
` Some are really bizarre and would be rather hilarious and probably make a good post by themselves if I wasn't always correcting them!
*Alert!* LOU RYAN SAYS:
You silly geese, I put it on YouTube, but thank you very much, I try very hard, and it is one of my passions.
NICE video! Director Nate must have put that all together, right? And as for Lou Ryan (or Lucas Ernst? We will never know!) he sounds strangely normal! Are you sure that's really him?
I bet they really value you as a storyboard artist... uh... even when they don't use your storyboards?
P.S. I've done some research about the Apple mouse for you as I was curious; An Apple mouse usually has one button because most people barely even know how to use the left button, much less the right button.
They are too confounded to figure out which one to press when and what the difference is, so in reality, a one-button mouse is for making use easier.
Like you, I beg to differ because it's 30X slower than being able to use one hand for everything. I hope that mandatory computer classes will one day make this problem obsolete.
This is just one more reason why Macs are for pussies. Not that they don't have amazing movie-making software as you know..... But you can't even open them up and mess with them and that makes me a sad panda.
` Wow. You're like way into that 'research' stuff. What are you, some kinda scientist?
What do you mean by a two handed mouse? Do you mean a touch pad? That's something I will have to get used to when I get my mac book.
lol
I only just read Galtron's comment and I totally disagree. Mac's are great and very user friendly. What does he mean for pussies only? I record my episodes on a mac and it's great. It has several sound effects too and editing episodes is soooooo easy on a mac.
` I mean a one-button mouse is a two-handed mouse because I constantly have to use the other button - the one it doesn't have - so it takes a great deal of timing and coordination to click, then click and hit a button on the keyboard at the same time, then click again without hitting the keyboard, all in rapid succession; whereas with my two-button mouse I can just left click, right click and then left click again.
` Believe me, I have to do this all the time and it is so slow without the right mouse button. I don't know why; I'm good at piano....
` And you're right - Macs are pretty cool for multimedia stuff, as Galtron said.
` But also as Galtron said, you can't play with Macs the way you can with 'boxes'; you just get what you get from the manufacturer, and if you want to play with them you have to pay someone else to do it for you.
` Tell me, how is that supposed to be fun for a computer geek?
` At the same time, I want to get a MacBook because I need a reliable laptop - reliability is something they are known for.
` Even so, my friend X-Dandruff's MacBook had constant problems and he had to put it in a box and send it to the Macintosh repair people (because they don't allow anyone else to fix their computers) and they could never fix it, so they had to throw it away.
` Probably won't happen to me, though. Statistics and all that....
