Binder O' Art - 5 of 5

It's been five days since last post, not four, because I'm now updating this blog every Monday and Friday. Remember that!

Now, we've been through all three sections of my Binder O'Art, so what could possibly be left? Some elaborate little contour drawings stuffed in the pocket, that's what!

As with the other drawings, I was nineteen when I drew these. The first drawing was done in pen and traces the elaborate lines of a metal trunk - which I still use for storing things like science magazines - as well as a zebra rug and a leopard-kind-of print footstool.

(Oops, there was a shred of paper on top when I took a picture of it!)

Ohmgosh, my Psychopathic Dad bought me that trunk! I feel weird having it after all this time.

This, I think, is even weirder. It's a statue that PsychoDad actually painted red and gold. He also said that he carved the teeth and tongue in, but I've seen identical dragon statues with the same mouth since then, so I know he must have been making that up.

The dragon statue can also be found in this elaborate charcoal drawing, which at least has the right amount of empty space!

This next drawing is a contour representation of the top of a dresser I used to have. About six blue ribbons were pinned on the wall, to accent the Outstanding Plaque in the middle of the dresser.
` It's propped against a particularly hideous little box my dad also bought me, since the giant metal one was not enough to win over my affection.
` On top of the box, we have... that armadillo-shaped ocarina! In fact, both the paisley box and the wicker one and the ocarina are three of the texture rubbings in this pic! Anyway, I thought the ocarina was a hideous thing, so I painted it to look hip. Or like a deranged mime.
` And it seems to have been wearing some kind of necklace, perhaps with one of those Celtic designs....

The stuff that's blocking most of the 4-H plaque is the jungle balls box, with a beaver skull on top. It looks rather odd because it's partly-shattered (thanks to PsychoDad) and thoroughly painted (to protect it from PsychoDad), and because I used it as a toothbrush holder.
` Just to the left are a pair of purple granny glasses, armless but not useless, and a bottle of this stinky stuff that someone had given to me as a nerve-calming agent.
` I'd never gotten so tense over a smell in my life - I remember that spraying it in my room was so disgusting to me that I had to go sleep on the couch!

But I didn't just draw still life, as you may know - sometimes I did semi-still life! Remember, the slumbering cat I was so fond of drawing? Katie girl! I miss old Katie!

What a great cat she was! Always by my side, posing frequently for semi-still life! (Or would that be more like a portrait?)

Well, I'm afraid that was all I found in the Binder O'Art, but I have photographed plenty more of my artwork, both old and new, so I'll continue to have more great posts lined up!

Until Monday...
