Okay, I lied: I've been gone from here for five days, not four. That's because I've changed my updating rounds (already!) so that I post on this blog after Sci/Wack/Spur/Brainchildren instead of before it.
` However, it didn't work out quite that way, anyway, as you can read here.
Anyway, here's the promised first section of this Binder O'Art. This is the one entitled 'Stark Contrast' and here's the first picture for that one... well, it came out a little (okay, a lot) blurry.
OutdatedOutlet
It's called Outdated Outlet, because at the time - remember, I was seventeen - I was helping to remodel a part of the house I lived in, which later became an apartment for a girl who I recall was dramatic and easily frightened, and talked as if the rules did not apply to her.
` I hope she has improved as much as I have.
Anyway, it was about time we replaced those things - looks like 1940's work!
This here is a drawing of a dragon sculpture I had molded out of paper, and was more or less wondering what to do with it. It actually did stand on only its two left legs, just as it appears, which I consider a great engineering feat for someone who didn't know much about sculpting.
MyDragon
It's pictured here, unpainted, on a light board, which is why I thought it would make such a good example of a contrasting subject. However, it frequently fell over and broke into several pieces, necessitating me to keep gluing it back together with clear nail polish.
` Finally, I just decided to paint the whole thing with various colors of nail polish (so it wouldn't break so easily) and later on gave it to someone who really liked dragons.
` However, I never did see it wherever he lived, and he kept assuring me that he had it somewhere, so I guessed that either he did not want to take it out of its box, or it had broken into pieces once again and he didn't want to tell me.
This is just a silhouette picture, which, since I tend to draw positive and negative spaces equally, was a simple matter.
` And, just for added drama, I left the transparent parts gray. Much better!
PositiveNegative
Pictured is a creepy star and moon tea candle holder, which I never did use, a candle belonging to my mom, and her little pewter dragon statue, which I still have.
` Somewhere around here.
Anyway, I've got to go for today, but the next one will be posted in four days... as long as I keep my schedule in gear!

That candle holder looks a little like a KKK hat ;-)
Whaaat? You made that little dragon just out of paper and a glue substitute?!?! Whoweeeee you got talent girl!
I admit, it wasn't normal paper, it was... it was... I guess it's just called 'paper clay'.
` It's very fragile, but you can also paint and draw on it just like regular paper!
` I just didn't know what to call it, other than papier-mâché, which it isn't - it's an actual molding compound (or is it 'moulding'?).
By the way, the top drawing in my next art post reminded me a bit of you....
