Binder O' Art - 1 of 5

As our house has been ever-changing since October, I'm glad to say that we've finally rummaged through everything there is to rummage through. One of the things I've found and put away in a secure location is... a binder.
` But it isn't any old binder. It's a three ring binder. And its contents aren't just any old sort of paper-like things... it's some of my artwork from when I was about 18 or 19 and took an art class at Tri-C.
` It even has my old monogram!

Incidentally, it wasn't until 2006 before I learned that my initials are actually S.E.H. rather than S.E.E.H. Thanks for not telling me my entire life, people who named me! (By that time, I had already been writing as S. E. E. Quine for over a year.)

So, which one's the 'real' S. E. E. Hazel? I'd say, all of them except the one in the middle of the paper, which I threw in just to placate my mom.
` You may notice that it doesn't quite 'look right' and that is because one half has an evil grin while the other has a look of utter contempt.
` That's right - evil, demented, alien, werewolf, and '4,000 mph' are actually more accurate portrayals of myself. No matter how much my mom disapproved of them.

Inside this three-ring binder are only three drawings each of the categories above - Stark Contrast, Gray Areas, and Sketches, though there were some others that were stuffed into the binder's pocket.

One of them is below, and only now do I realize that this picture is a colorized version of a sketch that is actually older than the others.

I was about 17 then. So, what's going on in here? Did a wormhole open up in my living room?

Strangely, I do remember what it was because my PsychoDad was arguing with me about it. (I mean, really, he argued about everything, especially my intentions.)
` Because of a very rare miracle of unaccountable origins, I was able to make him see that no, it's not a caricature, it's just my reflection in a Mylar balloon.

Hate to do this to you, but that's all I'm going to reveal for now... Next time, I'll post the ones called "Stark Contrast".

Be back with that in four days! In the meantime, keep an eye on my other blogs as I make my rounds! (Hopefully.)

So you were demented and evil when you were 17? Good to see that some things never change.

I guess you used your ability of drawing to escape from the realities of life back then? You should have told your dad that the last picture was really for him and you wanted him to treasure it for the rest of his life. Hehehe ;-)

Evidently, my twistedness roots go way back.

Yes, Gareth! He would have treasured it for the rest of his life... by putting it in a box and forgetting about it!
` Probably just as he's doing with all my diaries and photos and bicycle and stuff right now!
